Chiara Gennari, PhD

Associate professor of “Pharmaceutical Technology and Legislation” and of “Manufacturing of Biotechnological Drug Products” at theDepartment of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Milan.

The research activity is focused on the study and design of bioadhesive drug delivery systems (i.e., transdermal patches and mucoadhesive dosage forms) and on the evaluation of skin and/or transmucosal permeability of drug products, cosmetics, or medical devices. Phage display technology was also investigated as an in vitro screening technique for identifying peptides able to cross biological membranes.

She was scientific Coordinator of two projects funded by the University of Milan: “Peptide-transferosome conjugate: a new transdermal nanocarrier transporting therapeutic macromolecules through the skin”, within the project “Line B of the 2014 Development Plan” (2014), and “Film forming formulations for topical delivery of drugs”, as part of the “RESEARCH SUPPORT PLAN (LINE 2 – Action A)” (2015 – 2017).
