Teodora Dal Buono

Teodora Dal Buono is a biomedical engineer driven by a strong interest in nanomedicine for drug and gene delivery.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Sapienza University of Rome, with a thesis on developing a Lab-on-Chip platform for real-time PCR. She holds a Master’s degree from Politecnico di Milano, with research experience at the Diabetes Research Institute of the University of Miami where she focused on polymer nanoparticles for localized immunotherapy to enhance pancreatic β-cell transplantation in type 1 diabetes.

In 2025, she joined the PhD program in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Milan. Her current research focuses on the design of lipid nanoparticles for nucleic acid delivery and gene editing applications through CRISPR technology, aiming to contribute to the advancement of next-generation therapeutics for cancer and other pressing healthcare challenges.
